About Us

What is a Rotaract Club?

Rotaract brings together people ages 18+ to exchange ideas with community leaders, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. Members organize and manage the club themselves, supported by their sponsor Rotary Clubs.

About Chuo University RAC

We are a volunteer group of approximately 110 Chuo University students, making us one of the largest clubs in Japan. We leverage our scale to engage in international contribution, local problem solving, and wide-ranging social service activities.

1905

The Beginning of Rotary

Paul Harris formed the world's first service club, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on February 23, 1905.

1910

First Rotary Convention

The first Rotary Convention was held in 1910.

1912

Establishment of Rotary International

In 1912, Rotary Clubs were formally established as an international organization known as Rotary International.

1968

Birth of Rotaract

The first Rotaract club was certified in North Carolina, USA in 1968. The name comes from "ROTARy in ACTion".

1987

Establishment of Tokyo Chuo RC

In 1987, business leaders from the Ginza and Nihonbashi areas came together to establish the Tokyo Chuo Rotary Club.

2001

Establishment of Tokyo Chuo Shin RC

In 2001, the Tokyo Chuo Rotary Club sponsored the establishment of the Tokyo Chuo Shin Rotary Club.

2009

Establishment of Chuo University Rotaract Club

In 2009, the Chuo University Rotaract Club was established, contributing to student service activities and leadership development.
